Galveston Bay Saltwater Fishing Report
by Captain Bill Cannan

Bayfishing for
speckled trout has been good to excellent depending on the wind and tide. Saturday morning on a trip until 11am my party of Mike Smith of Houston
and Scott from Ohio and myself had
14 specks, 2 reds, and 2 flounder. The
trout were up to four pounds and both reds were right at 26” in length. The flounder were solid 3 pounders which has been common for the spot
that I have been working in East Bay. All
of the fish hit Bass Assassins- redshad and glow/chartreuse tail. A few days
earlier I had a half day that produced 23 specks to six pounds and two keeper
redfish. Quinton Skinner and son
Alex Skinner were very pleased with their catch. All of the fish were caught in East Bay on redshad Bass Assassins in 2
feet of water over shell.
On 11/21 I
took Rick Robbins and Russ Clark redfishing. By the end of the day we had three limits of redfish. The fish ranged from 25”-27.5” in length.
